New #7 Bridge

About two months ago, an accident occurred off of 115th street on the south end of the golf course. The vehicle came through the fence and down into the creek near the 7th green. It came to a hard stop as it careened into the bridge that runs over the pond/creek at 7 green, knocking the bridge three feet off its footings and essentially ruining the bridge. Lucky for us, that bridge was in need of being replaced. Huge thanks to the Parks & Rec for getting us a new bridge that definitely isn't going anywhere!! Pictures below will show you the construction of our new bridge.....

This is the old bridge after it was struck by the vehicle and moved off footings

New Forward Tee Boxes

We decided last season that we would like to build four new forward tee boxes to benefit the ladies and senior tee's.  Holes 5, 6, 15 and 18 were the holes we felt needed the tee's moved up the most do to a long carry from existing tee boxes to the fairway.  The project was given the green light over the winter and we began the project in the early spring.  Mammoth Turf Construction was hired to shape the tee boxes for us. They did a great job, the boxes look almost natural built into the natural contour of the course.  We had a long wait on getting sod because of weather but we were able to get the sod in late June and got all the new boxes sodded.  The tee tops are zoysia grass and the banks around the tee are fescue. With all the recent rains it has actually helped us with the new sod.  We hope to have these open for play in the next couple weeks!  Pictures below show the process of construction...

Hole 14 Tree Project

We removed two large oak tree's on the left side of #14 to open up the hole from the back tee boxes.  In doing so, we hope to give the golfer a much more playable shot from the back tee and also will help speed up play on this hole.  Doing this will also help us on the maintenance side because we will be able to utilize the entire tee boxes. You can see the before and after pictures below!
